What the app keeps for your horses

Each horse, mare or foal has its own record with the number the app assigns, name, breed, sex and date of birth. Everything that happens to it is recorded from there and stays in its history.

  • Weights. You note the weight each time you take it and the app draws the curve and works out the daily gain between weighings. It helps you follow growing foals and see whether a working horse is losing condition.
  • Vaccines and health. Quick vaccination is on the free plan. On the Pro plan you keep full health records: vaccines with product, batch, dose, vet and cost, plus deworming, treatments, injuries, surgeries and checkups. For the next dose, you create a reminder.
  • Matings and foalings. On the Pro plan you record heat, natural mating or insemination with the technician, the pregnancy check and the foaling with the foal’s weight. The expected foaling date is worked out for you, using 340 days.
  • Costs per horse. The farrier, feed, vet and medicines are logged with a category and assigned to the whole farm, to one horse or to one group, and each month you see what it costs to keep them. On the Pro plan, the cost of each treatment is booked to the horse, and each horse’s record shows its expenses, income and balance.
  • Reminders. Shoeing, deworming, vaccinations or dental checks, each with its date, a note and a notification on your phone. They can repeat every so many days, weeks or months: when you mark one done, the app sets the next.

Horses, weights, accounts, assigning costs to a horse or a group, and reminders are on the free plan. The balance per animal and per group, breeding records and full health records are part of the Pro plan.

Groups the way you keep them on the farm

You can group the animals the way you manage them: working horses, breeding mares, foals. On the Pro plan each group has its weight analytics, so you see whether the foals are growing well, and its expenses, income and balance, so you know what the working horses cost you compared with the breeding mares. Each horse you register counts toward the free plan’s limit of 50 animals. To work out how much forage the group needs, use the feed calculator.

Record in the field, sync when you reopen it. For now, wait for the app to finish syncing before you close it. How it works today.

Common questions

Can I record my horses if they do not produce milk or meat?
Yes. Each horse has its own record with the number the app assigns, name, breed, sex and date of birth, and that is where its weights and events are logged. Each cost can go to the whole farm, to one horse or to one group. You do not need to record any production.
Does the app remind me about shoeing and deworming?
Yes. You create a reminder for the next shoeing or the next deworming and the notification reaches your phone. It can repeat every so many weeks or months: when you mark it done, the app sets the next one. On the free plan you can have up to 10 reminders.
Does it work out the mare's foaling date?
Yes, on the Pro plan. When you record the mating or insemination, the app works out the expected foaling date using 340 days of gestation. Create a reminder for that date and the notification reaches your phone.
How much does a horse eat a day?
As a guide, about 2 % of its live weight in dry matter. A 450 kg horse eats about 9 kg of dry matter a day. The feed calculator does the sum with your animal's weight.
